Rann Utsav

The White Desert, the “Rann of Kutch” is a reflection of both the years that have passed since an earlier age and the years that are waiting to welcome the present till today. Rann Utsav is an event that promotes the "White Rann Experience" all over the world. It is sponsored by the TCGL.

While the White Rann, which is located next to the Great Rann of Kutch, was considered to be an uninhabitable desert stretch, the TCGL took the initiative in 2005 to introduce the "White Rann Experience" to the rest of the world. What started off as a festival that lasted for three days has now expanded into a celebration that lasts for one hundred days at Dhordo, a village close to Rann of Kutch. Here, a completely new tent city has been formed offering various Rann of Kutch packages for the tourists, complete with temporary infrastructure that is built and rebuilt every year.

During the festival, the TCGL will make arrangements for Rann Utsav packages, as well as trips that include meals, lodging, transportation, as well as guided sightseeing. Do not pass up this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel through one of the most vibrant parts of India.

During the 16th Rann Mahotsav, which will take place over the course of three days, the Great Rann of Kutch will play host to around 8,000 tourists. These visitors will be greeted by the relaxing light of the full moon.

A great number of prominent dignitaries, such as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, will be able to see cultural programmes that will be performed in the middle of the White Rann made of salts, which stretches on for kilometres.

According to Mr. Patel, the Dance and Musical Carnival would feature participation from close to 32 cultural troupes from various districts across the state of Gujarat and also Kutch has been acclaimed as one of the best places to visit in Gujarat. He also mentioned that over 2 lakh people from Kutch as well as Bhuj are anticipated to attend the event.

The GSTNL would take the tourists on an entourage to Kala Dunger (Salty Hill), which is situated in the suburbs of Rann. They would also visit the well-known handicraft town of Ludia and the environmentally friendly Hodko village.

The Rann Utsav is indeed one of the highly anticipated tourism events in India. It is a celebration of the natural wonders that can be found in the White Desert as well as the abundant cultural and artistic history that can be found in Kutch. The Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, who was serving as the Chief Minister of Gujarat at the time, envisioned the idea of Rann Utsav.

Since it first opened its doors, the Rann Utsav has seen an explosion in visitors, with over 500,000 people coming from over 20 different nations. Kutch Rann Utsav date 2023-2024 are listed in the packages listed below. Kindly make your bookings accordingly.
