Tent City rates, pickup timings and what each night actually gets you

Rann Utsav at Dhordo runs from 1 November 2026 to 7 March 2027. Below are the real published tariffs for the Tent City, the peak dates that cost more, the Bhuj pickup timings, and the sightseeing you get on a 1, 2 or 3 night stay. We sell at the official Tent City tariff. No markup is added on top.

Per person, on double occupancy, for November, February and March. Full Moon and Diwali dates are charged extra, listed in the next section.

Suites are charged per suite, same rate on every date of the season, with no peak surcharge. Darbari Suite for 4 people is Rs.70,000 for 1 night, Rs.1,40,000 for 2 nights, Rs.2,10,000 for 3 nights. Rajwadi Suite for 2 people is Rs.35,000, Rs.70,000 and Rs.1,05,000.

All rates are exclusive of taxes. GST is charged as applicable. An extra mattress is Rs.5,500 per night in Super Premium, Premium and Deluxe AC Cottage, Rs.4,500 in Non-AC Cottage, and Rs.7,750 in either suite.

Peak dates cost more

Full Moon nights are the reason most people come, and they carry a surcharge. So does Diwali week and the Christmas to New Year block. The extra amount is per person, on top of the tariff above.

Applies to Full Moon and Diwali dates in November and February, and to all of December and January except Full Moon and Christmas week.

Applies to December and January Full Moon dates, and to 18 December 2026 through 2 January 2027.

Full Moon dates: 22 to 25 November 2026, 21 to 24 December 2026, 20 to 23 January 2027, 18 to 21 February 2027.

Dark Moon dates: 9 November 2026, 8 December 2026, 7 January 2027, 6 February 2027. These are the nights to pick if you want the stars rather than the moonlight on the salt.

Diwali: 8 to 14 November 2026. Christmas and New Year: 18 December 2026 to 2 January 2027.

What the tariff covers

Tent accommodation, all meals, the scheduled sightseeing below, and the Tent City activities including yoga, cultural performances and stargazing. Coach transfers from Bhuj are included at the fixed timings listed below. Check-in is 12:30 and check-out is 09:30.

Meals run to a fixed schedule: morning tea 6:00 to 6:30, breakfast 7:30 to 9:30, lunch 12:30 to 14:30, hi-tea 16:00 to 17:00, dinner 19:30 to 22:00.

Not covered: your travel to Bhuj, GST, extra mattress, peak date surcharge, private vehicles and personal expenses.

Getting to Dhordo from Bhuj

Bhuj to Dhordo is about 85 km and takes roughly 1 hour 45 minutes. Complimentary coach pickup runs from Bhuj Railway Station and Bhuj Airport at 08:15, 10:00, 13:30, 15:30 and 17:30. Return coaches leave the Tent City for Bhuj at 04:30 and 09:30 only.

Two things worth planning around. There is no complimentary transfer after 17:30, so a late train or flight into Bhuj means paying for a private car. And with only two return coaches, a mid-morning flight out of Bhuj usually forces the 04:30 departure. Book your Bhuj arrival and departure around these times, not the other way round. Private transfers are available on request at extra cost. Coach seats are allotted first come, first served.

How many nights you actually need

This is the part most people get wrong when they book the cheapest option. Each extra night unlocks a different part of Kutch, and one night gets you far less than the photos suggest.

1 Night

Sunset at the White Desert on the evening you arrive, then check out at 9:30 with a complimentary stop at Shree Swaminarayan Temple and Kutch Museum. You do not see sunrise and you do not see Kala Dungar.

2 Nights

Adds sunrise at the White Desert on day two, plus the afternoon run to Kala Dungar and Gandhi Nu Gaam. This is the version most families should book.

3 Nights

Adds Dholavira and the Archaeological Museum, about 105 km each way, and the drive through the Road Through Heaven at dusk. Worth it if the Harappan site interests you, otherwise the second night is the better value.

Two closures to check against your dates. Kutch Museum is shut every Wednesday, so a Wednesday check-out loses that stop. The Dholavira Archaeological Museum is shut every Friday, which matters on the 3 night itinerary.

Before you book

Carry the right ID. Every guest needs a government photo ID at the reception counter along with the voucher. Aadhaar is accepted. PAN card is not accepted. Foreign nationals need passport and visa.

The white crust is not guaranteed. It is a natural salt formation and depends on the season and the rainfall that year. Anyone promising you a perfect white surface on a specific date is guessing.

Travelling alone is expensive here. Single occupancy is charged at 75% of the double occupancy total, which works out to 1.5 times the per person rate above.

Children. Under 6 stay free. In a triple, anyone above 6 is charged as an extra person with a mattress.

Cancellation and changes

Cancel 30 days or more before arrival and 90% is refunded. Between 15 and 29 days, 60% is refunded. Inside 15 days there is no refund. Changing your check-in date costs 10% of the booking, changing the lead guest name costs 5%, and downgrading your tent category costs 5%.

Common questions

What is the cheapest Rann Utsav package?

Non-AC Swiss Cottage at Rs.6,300 per person for one night, on double occupancy, on a non peak date. Taxes are extra.

Are meals included in the Tent City rate?

Yes. Morning tea, breakfast, lunch, hi-tea and dinner are all included, served at fixed timings.

Is transport from Bhuj included?

Yes, on the scheduled coach at the five pickup times listed above. Your travel to Bhuj itself is not included, and private transfers cost extra.

Which dates have the Full Moon?

22 to 25 November 2026, 21 to 24 December 2026, 20 to 23 January 2027 and 18 to 21 February 2027. These carry a surcharge and sell out first.

Do I need to book in advance?

For Full Moon, Diwali and the Christmas block, yes, well in advance. Ordinary weekdays in November, February and March are easier and cheaper.

Is one night enough?

Only if you want sunset and nothing else. Sunrise at the White Desert and Kala Dungar both need a second night.
